After several decades spent designing, operating, and protecting high-voltage electrical infrastructure, we were considering quietly turning the page. We had given the best of our careers to the field, to substations, and to strategic networks.

But it was the needs of the industry that called us back. Public utilities and asset operators approached us with complex outages, technical dilemmas, and critical organizational issues. We then understood that our role was not over.
